This Privacy Policy explains what data Sketchie collects when you use our AI explainer-video service, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Sketchie is operated by Downshift LLC, 520 Broadway #200, Santa Monica, CA 90401 ("we", "us", "our"), which is responsible for your personal data under this policy. By using Sketchie you agree to this policy.
To generate a video, your prompt and the text derived from it are sent to our AI providers. Depending on the generation path, we use Anthropic or OpenRouter and its disclosed model provider for lesson, scene, and script planning. We use Google Gemini or ElevenLabs through FairStack for narration. These providers process your content to return a result to us. We do not sell your content, and we do not use your prompts or generated videos to train our own models.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered directly with Stripe and handled under Stripe's own privacy terms. We do not store your card data ourselves. You only add a card when you move to a paid plan.
When you verify your account, we add your name and email address to our marketing mailing list, which we run through Fair, so we can send you product updates and news about Sketchie. This is separate from the account, security, and transactional email we send to run your account, which you cannot opt out of while you have an account. You can opt out of marketing email at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing message, or by emailing hello@sketchie.ai. Our marketing email comes from Downshift LLC, 520 Broadway #200, Santa Monica, CA 90401.
Your generated videos and assets are stored on Cloudflare R2. If you choose to share or export a video, that video is served from our public media system at media.sketchie.ai, which means anyone with the link can view it. Do not share a video that contains information you want to keep private.
We share data only with the service providers we need to run Sketchie. Each acts on our behalf and is bound to protect your data.

We may also disclose data if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will let you know.
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. We keep your generated videos and assets while your account is active or until you delete them. We keep billing and transaction records for as long as needed for tax, accounting, and legal reasons. We may keep limited records to prevent abuse. If you opt out of marketing email, we keep a record of that choice so we can honor it. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are legally required to keep it.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can delete your account from your settings. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@sketchie.ai. We will respond within the time the law requires. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We use a small number of cookies. A session cookie keeps you signed in, and PostHog uses cookies to understand product usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
We and our providers may process your data in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for those transfers.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us right away.
Sketchie is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.
We may update this policy as the Service changes. If we make a material change, we will take reasonable steps to notify you. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
